~~~Chapter one: Will it end?

Their life – A Fairy and a Saber

‘’Gah!’’ With a scream, he shot up, breathing heavily. The blonde held his head, his eyes wide. Another nightmare. After he left, nothing was like before.

A sigh escaped from his lips, standing up from the bed, that were wet of his cold sweat. The dragon slayer walked to the bathroom, standing before the sink. He stared in the mirror, at his pale reflection. He, the famous Sting Eucliffe, was alone. Again. Heartbroken. He ran a hand through his hair, sighing. ‘’I miss you.. I can’t take it without you..’’ The Blondie closed his eyes, his fingers touching his lips. Where his lips touched before. Sting’s eyes was dull, they had lost its shine. His smirk was gone, no more playing on his lips. His blonde hair covered his eyes, making a shadow fall on them. ‘’Natsu-san…’’

One year earlier

‘’Natsu-san!’’ Blonde male turned around, blood dripping from his mouth. He dodged the claw coming his way, growling low. The pinkette coughed blood, but kept fighting the dragon before him. He jumped in the air, sending a kick to the dragon’s head. It screeched in pain, slashing its talons at him. Natsu had no time to dodge, a dragon above him. Sting’s eyes widened, ‘’Natsu-san do-‘’ Before he could end his sentence, a long haired male growled, kicking the pinkette away. The two dragons were surprised, missing the two dragon slayers. Sting let out a breath, then fast jumped away from where he stood, a tail slashing down there.

‘’Be careful, Sting’’ A voice from behind said, he turned around, seeing his long time friend, Rogue Cheney. The white dragon slayer smirked, ‘’I wont go down that easy, Rogue~’’ He then shot off behind the blackette and took a large breath, ‘’White dragon’s Roar!’’ The laser escaped from his mouth, hitting a dragon that got thrown off its feet. The Sabertooth mage smirked, ‘’Heh~ Oi! Rogue, how many was that now?’’ The shadow dragon slayer punched a smaller, green dragon to a wall with shadows covering his fist. ‘’…Thirty two.’’

The night came fast, the mages, and some exceeds as well, went into hiding, in the huge castle of Crocus. The twin dragon slayers were the last ones to come back. Of the living that is. Rogue looked around, dark marks under his eyes, he hadn’t slept much these past weeks. He walked to one certain blue haired dragon slayer. ‘… Wendy. How many did we lose today?’’ That question was a bit harsh, but he had to know after all. The shadow dragon slayer was worried, hoping none of his friends had lost their life. The sky maiden looked up at him. ‘’… I-I think it was.. twenty five.. but at least ten is missing.. I-I’m sorry..’’ Tears formed in her eyes, falling down as she buried her face in his chest, he could feel the warm liquid wet his clothes. Rogue sighed, holding her close. ‘’It’s alright. You did your best.’’ He said, a faint smile on his lips.

‘’Did.. did anyone from Fairy Tail or.. Sabertooth.. lose their life?’’ He asked, his voice cracking a bit at the end, but still was strong. He couldn’t break down here. Not now. She shook her head. A sigh of relief escaped his lips, at least someone important died. ‘’B-But… J-Jenny-san..’’ Her tears poured down heavier on his shirt, clutching it slightly. Rogue looked down, holding her close. ‘’It’s alright.. let it all out..’’ The black haired male bit his lip, he didn’t know the Blue Pegasus mage that well, still it sadden him that someone who was rather famous had died. He glanced over to the Blue Pegasus mages, all of them were feeling down, some crying, some just staring in empty air. The Cheney shook his head, that couldn’t happen to him. He wouldn’t let any of his Nakama die. ‘’R-Rogue-san..’’ He looked down at the sky dragon slayer, ‘’Yes?’’ ‘’…When will this all.. e-end..?’’ She asked, looking up at him with tearful eyes. The Sabertooth mage’s eyes widened, looking away. ‘’… I don’t know. Soon..’’ He had asked himself that question a lot of times, then let her go as someone asked for her. Rogue sighed, walking away. He saw his blonde friend staring out at the moon, that was slightly red of all the fire and dust in the air of all the dragons. ‘’Neh, Rogue.. I wonder what Weisslogia would say if he saw us killin’ dragons all day..’’ Sting chuckled slightly as the blackette walked up next to him, ‘’.. I’m not interested… They’re dead anyway, Sting.’’ Rogue looked at the moon, crossing his arms. ‘’Still..’’ Sting mumbled, clenching his fists slightly. ‘’It’s getting late..’’ Rogue replied, leaning against a wall. The white dragon slayer nodded, ‘’I’m comin’..’’ He walked to him, glancing at the moon one last time. His smirk had faded away, 10000 dragons was a hard opponent to fight against. This all was hard, they hadn’t lost anyone that the blondie knew, yet.
