I have to leave earth [ENG novell]

Jag håller på med en novell i engelskan för tillfället som jag tänkte dela med alla awesome mugglisar för lite tips, råd och kritik. Hänger ni på? Hjälper ni till? Snälla?

Beskrivning: En gammal dam berättar för sina barnbarnsbarn om när hon var tvungen att lämna jorden för planeten Terra Nova som utsetts till den planet människorna ska överföras till. Mer info finns vid varje kapitel.

Så där, nu kommenterar jag så det kan komma ett kapitel. Det låter som att det kan bli spännande att läsa, och dessutom kanske jag kan hålla min engelska lite bättre genom att läsa, eftersom jag gått back hela förra terminen.

Mina guidelines för detta kapitel:
It is year 2093. The planet, "Tellus", can't take it anymore. After centuries of war and environmental pollution earth is about to collapse. Imagine that you are one of the people living on earth at this time.

1. The destruction of earth
“Grandma, can’t you tell us about the big move?” A boy, no older than six years were pulling the leg of her trousers with a pleading look in his face.
The old lady sighed.
“It’s a very long story you know, are you really sure you want to hear it?”
“Yes!” the boy’s older sister said, the excitement trembling in her voice.
The corner of the lady’s thin mouth twitched. She had known her grandgrandchildren one day would ask for this story, just as she knew she was one of eleven people living today that could tell it in exact detail. Two small faces were now turned towards her with big eyes and concentrated faces.
“Very well. As you know, the human race was transferred from earth to our planet sixty years ago,” she started. “I don’t think the announcement came as a chock to anyone. The earth was too polluted and overpopulated for us being able to live there much longer. Even though scientists had worked day and night for over thirty years to save the planet we lived on, it simply wasn’t enough. You can’t imagine how horribly gray everything was. It didn’t matter where on earth you went, it all looked the same: Huge buildings, millions of people, concrete all around you, if you wasn’t in one of the many war zones. In that case you wouldn’t see anything but ruins and craters. The resources were running short. Earlier the earth had relied on oil and coal as power sources but all foundings had ran dry a quarter of a century ago. As with the food, we were no longer able to eat anything besides the grain and meat that was produced under strict regulations. Since the forests and seas were all so polluted, scientists had concluded it wasn’t safe to eat what they gave. It was obvious that they were right. You could distinguish people who didn’t listen just by looking at them. Some had got the most horrible mutations. When I was little, my mother always used to cover my eyes when we met one.
The lack of food and other necessities was of course a big reason to all the wars raging the planet. We were lucky to live in a country far away from the conflict areas, but there were places nearby that carried signs of earlier conflicts.”
The lady’s eyes showed that she was far away, going trough the memories of her childhood. She continued:
“I guess you understand that it wasn’t an easy thing, living on earth at that point. It was, in fact terrible. I was lucky and lived in a fairly rich family. We could always afford enough food for eating three meals a day, while other people didn’t have the money to buy what they needed.  Our family always did what we could for those people, but it doesn’t feel good to watch your friends starve.
I was constantly worried that something would go really wrong, that the nuclear station a few kilometers away would collapse, that we should run out of food or that the next natural disaster would hit us and our city. I made my own survival plans for me, my mother, father and little brother, that went through my mind so many times every day I barely had time thinking of anything else.”
The old lady stopped speaking, looking down at her grandgrandchildren, suddenly realizing how young the were. They had their whole lives ahead of them, lives were they’d never have to worry about not having enough to eat, worry about the fact that the planet could collapse at any moment. And all thanks to her. It was a strange feeling, being the person that literally gave them a future. She felt proud.

Vi har en viss frihet från beskrivningen. Så, konstruktiv kritik, får jag med allt, har något blivit fel?

Jag ska inte ha för mycket åsikter eftersom jag är två år yngre än dig, men jag kan nog säga att det borde heta "enough to eat".
Annars tycker jag det är bra.

Åsikter är alltid bra, oavsett ålder. Det är klart att det ska vara "enough to eat". Surt att missa sådant trots att jag läste igenom både en och två gånger...

När jag sa att jag är yngre, så tänkte jag mest på att jag dels inte kommit till nians engelska än, och dels går back och glömmer hela tiden, eftersom läraren är så dålig. Så du kan säkert massa finnesser som jag inte har en aning om.
Men snacka om att kunna spinna på bara en liten grund till något bra, när du kunde göra de där små guidelinens (hette det så?) till ett helt kapitel... Och ett riktigt bra sånt till på köpet.
Kommer det mer snart?

Det var typ det jag menade med ålder också. Jag känner att jag har lite svårt för att trycka mig ut på sverige just nu... Jag vet hur det är med dåliga lärare. Det suger rent ut sagt.

Det var faktiskt rätt så enkla guidelines, som tillsammans med resten av dem gav en hel del idéer. Dessutom är de väldigt tydliga och lätta att spinna på, till skillnad mot vad vår SO-lärare delar ut. Huga...

Nästa kapitel kommer senast i morgon. Allt måste vara klart till torsdag, men jag drar eventuellt ut lite på att publicera det här

Säkert att du vet hu det är med dåliga lärare? Som är minst 5 minuter sen varje lektion, ibland en kvart, och alltid skyller det på eleverna? Som ändrar schemat minst en gång på en termin utan att kolla med rektorn och andra lärare som påverkas först, och oftast inte säger det till eleverna att det är ändrat på en eller två veckor? Och som (det sämsta) vad gäller inlärning håller nivå Umbridge? Det kan även tilläggas att det är ungefär lika interessant som en lektion med Binns.
Iaf, jag hoppas kunna vara till lite hjälp ändå på resten också.

Inte SÅ dåliga lärare då. Har dock haft en del lärare av varierande kaliber efter nio år, so to speak..
